Oh wow, this post is making my nipples hard!

Seriously, the response has been overwhelming in such a short time and it's good to see some new names and others whom I haven't seen for quite some time. I know that some of you peruse this forum on a daily basis but are a bit shy when it comes to contributing. Good to see you here. You are always welcome.

John Gettis,

That is some serious camera porn. My sister gave me her OM-1 when she decided to go digital. The local high school (my former employer before retirement) visual arts department was short of cameras for their students a few years ago and I donated the Minolta.

Yes that camera is no longer functional. It needs a trip to John Hermanson to get cla'd but it was my first "real" camera bought with money I made as a teenager working for my grandfather and my dad. The money was supposed to be spent on the prom but the girl I asked turned me down. I had looked at several cameras at the time a Nikon, a Mamiya 500 dtl and some other cameras but once I held the OM-1 that was it. I recently found out that according to the date code in the camera It was made in March of 1973 the month I was born. I probably bought it in June or July of that year. As I write this it sits on a shelf above my desk with the lens that came with it. Also there are several other old cameras a 1908 Kodak Pocket camera, they must have had much bigger pockets then as it is large. A Argus "Super 75" that belonged to my Great Aunt, a Kodak Brownie Starmeter that was my first camera given to me for Christmas when I was about 10. A Sears Tower 35mm that must have taken most of the photo of Myself and siblings when we where young. When I look at them I think of the people and events that they have recorded and smile. Some I have photos of and others just memorys as the images have been lost over the ages. John
