malcolm_baba
Chuck Babbitt, Pipe looks sweet, very nice. By the time typhoon Choi Won circled across to Alaska and down the coast to Santa Cruz the swell was only six to nine feet but nice. I surfed the building swell all day Saturday then pulled out the camera on an unusually fog free and glassy fading swell Sunday.
My website is down at the moment so I have some shots hosting over at magicseaweed.com Photos>Central California>Steamer Lane.
Have you heard any good winter swell predictions so far for Oahu. I'm thinking of spending a month there this winter but I can't decide on a time frame. Any suggestions?
Malcolm

cbabbitt
Malcolm,
Well everyone is expecting lots of big surf this year because of El Nino. Of course you never really know when things will be the best. If you are here to surf yourself you might want to wait until all the pros leave down after the contests in late November through December. It gets a little less crowded. Of course if you are just coming to photograph the Pipe Masters in mid-late December is quite a show. The surf here can be good any time from November through March.
Peter,
Sorry to hear that. It must suck. I hope you heal quickly.
