Once again, som top notch work from extremely talented photographers!. My week from hell had continued until yesterday, so i hadn't gotten a chance to post earlier. A high light is that i picked up a 70-300 and took some shots at m 4 y/o's 1st soccer game. D200, 70-300@310mm, f5.3, 1/250, iso 400.
@ Joseph Leotta-gotta love that old stuff, i don't have the heart to get rid of mine. I also have an F2, and F3. Great old cameras.
@ Lil- nice shot of the egrets, the one on the left looks kind of angry!
@ Jeanneane- great macro work as usual.

00UbBn-176115584.thumb.jpg.b8cd1e54580faf00f7e3bb2fedeaf08e.jpg

Can I just say a big thankyou to those who commented on my image. I was actually quite nervous about it, as it is a much more visually 'busy' shot than what I normally go for. On the other hand, any of you who have travelled in Thailand (or many other parts of South-East Asia) know that one needs to get this sense of crowdedness to capture the spirit of many of these places. In any case many thanks for the positive words on my image.

I just want to thank those who commented on my entry this week - Eric Arnold, Luis Arguelles, Jeannean, Paul Gorky, Joseph Leotta, Lil, Finlay, Roberta. Sorry if I missed anyone. You guys' entries are great, too. I wish I had time to make detailed comment because there are so many inspiring images, but have been tied up with something else this weekend.
See you next Wednesday!

Well..... Thank you all of you ladies and gents who commented on my shot.... You are too kind!
Eric... I'll always be here for you! :) By the way, Negative space? Uhmmm! That's exactly what I didn't have in mind when I took the shot but Thank You! :)
Joseph... Thank you! I am not sure how though it is to shoot fireworks. I am so used to it. Here in Japan we have fireworks all Summer long so any night I can go out and shoot hundreds of them. I just set my camera to f/8 or f/11, Bulb and fire away. Within 10 shots I get the feeling of it and the rest comes out naturally.
Well, a little chat here.... I'm unemployed now, so maybe you will see a few good used lenses going out on sell pretty soon! OK! Wait, unemployed is not the right word..... I'm self-employed now, so which me luck! Since I don't have to be at my office at 8 am anymore, I decided to take another cruise to Europe before I run out of cash. So I'm in a hotel close to the airport and I'll catch a flight to Prague tomorrow morning. So Pic #40 will be fresh from Prague.
I think I'm talking too much now. Must be the beer!
I thought since I'm in a hotel I would comment on all the great shots from this week BUT..... Uhmmmm! that is really though.... All the work is great and it keeps getting better.... So there is only 1 comment: Everyone should be proud of his work.... Let's keep it up....
Cheers!

Lil: Thank you. I've just returned from a weekend with my wife in Gothenburg in your native Sweden. Few pictures, and none with a Nikon, so I cannot use them tomorrow in next thread. It's good that we (Sweden and Norway) now are doing business and not wars anymore.
Roberta: Thank you for your comment. That was also one of my feelings when posting the image.

And now back to today's main problem: What to post tomorrow! ;)

Thanks to all for being part of the thread and specially to

Eric Arnold , great concert shot as usual,

Per-Christian Nilssen , Great contrast in a small detail. Very graphic.

Jeannean Ryman , back to the bugs I see! , LordV collection is incredible but for me this picture of Martin Amm http://www.photo.net/photo/6687694 is the best macro I'have seen and make me wonder why I care!! I'will never reach that level....but in few weeks I'll travel to the north of Argentina to visit the Iguazu Falls surrounded by subtropical forest I hope to find interesting bugs there!

Paul V. Gorky , Congratulations, your shot deserve to be selected. Wonderfull sunset

Lil Judd , very funny! and the same to the rest of the series of this furious Egretta from your Zenfolio portfolio. I don't know why but the egret jumping remind me of the Cartier Bresson photo Behind st Lazare Station. (I know, I must visit my shrink soon!!!)

Joseph Leotta , Congratulation for your 40 years! In December will be my first year with Nikon. Being 49 years old I don't expect to reach 40 Nikon years! One thing I was wondering what are you doing awake at 2 or 3 A.M. in NY your usual posting time?? Now that I think: What I'm doing at 3 or 4 A.M awake in Buenos Aires when iI post ????? (more to consult the shrink)

Finlay Jolliffe, Beautiful Strawberries your NY taxi panning of weeks before was great also

Roberta Davidson , lovely spider! about the horse: "Capo Fede" is its name and he won by several meters. It was a race for "loosers", horses of 5 years old that have never won a race before. Must have thought: If I don't make today I will be turned into Mortadella soon!!!

see you all tomorrow
