jared_angle
If I were to buy this lens and an M-mount adapter for the Nikon F-mount, to what extent would the lens function on a 35mm SLR such as the F4? For example, metering, etc. I'm aware that there's no autofocus, but I've also heard about issues such as not being able to focus to infinity.

This is nothing I plan to do in the near future, but just an idea I have been toying with.

Go to Camaeraquest.com. Voightlander makes - or they used to - make a version that will fit on the F/F2.

pnance
While the Heliar will not meter on an slr, the mirror has to be up to mount!, it will meter on most Voigtlander bodiers, even if its the SL version for the Nikon F/F2 with a Leica adapter. Focus with the lens is done manually for both the SL and Leica versions, there is no focus cam, but the lens is easy to focus anyway, at max aperture f/5.6 and 12mm, even halfway trying will get you in the ballpark.
