PuppyDigs
Works fine but you can't program it from the onboard camera flash menu. Gotta use the flash controls for many of the options.
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. bob_osullivan
I use a pair of 550EXs on all my EOS bodies from 30Ds to 1DsII. I prefer it to my 580EXII because of the more intuitive controls. I only use the 580 when I really need one if it's features like the pc connector, or multi/strobe flash.
chrisjb
Centre focus point only tho as it does not cover all points, still only ever used that one myself
james_brown20
I always used the controls on the flash when I had an EOS 3 anyway so that's no big deal. Thanks everyone.
simon_t1
May I add a question please. Can I use the 550EX as a slave and a 580EXII as a master on a 50D. I already have the 580EXII.
Thanks.
arie_vandervelden1
Simon: yes you can. You can even use the 550EX as master if you wish.

Puppy. I believe you can program some stuff from the camera menu (FEC, 1st/2nd curtain) but other stuff needs to bet set on the flash (manual power, fp trick flash, stroboscopic, groups and ratios and stuff like that). Correct me if I'm wrong.

Very good flash by the way. I like mine.
John Sully
Should be able to set most of the basic stuff from the flash menu. I know I can with my vastly inferior SX10 IS :). This includes manual power, FEC, 1st/2nd. The fancy stuff needs to be set from the flash though, although I would expect that FP can be set from the body -- I know I could do it with my Elan 2, EOS 3 and D30.
juancalop
Hey guys, thanks a lot for inputs.
What about not all focusing points working? I used 550 in a EOS3 and now I bought a 50D and I need to figure out how it work.

Thanks again.
