di_darby
After working as a second photographer for some time I have taken the plunge and set up with a very experienced business partner. I havefinished the website (using clikpic) and we are now considering how to present proofs for clients. Our wedding packages include printed images in albums of the bride and groom's choice. However, we also want to hand out cards on the day to guests with a link to the online gallerey on our website were they can purchase from. I wanted to give the proofs low resolution on disc but my partner wants them just to be uploaded onto an online gallerey for both the bride and groom to choose their proofs and the guests to purchase images. I am concerned that the couples will be put off by having access to their album online at the same time as their guests get the opportunity to view. How do others get round this? Any suggestions gartefully appreciated.

Di

david_schilling___chicago_
With smugmug you can password protect the gallery till after the B/G see their images if you wish to assure them the opportunity for the first look. I've never had a B/G that worried about the first look option though.....I'm also careful about what I post on the public gallery since from time to time I get the opprtunity to do some images that might be rated "PG-13" or "R" :-)
desiraelynn
On our website, the person wanting to access the photos must register with us. I always let the bride know when the photos are available to see first. We also give out a disc, preview book and online proofing. That way they can reference back and forth without confusion.
wedding-photography-denver
I do what David S. says, re; smugmug.com. One advantage is you can set up their gallery to be integrated into your look/brand and have a click through to each gallery from your site.

There's always the competition too
