david israel
I like it the way it is. The background is intresting to me. I think it's an excellent picture and the eyes do tell a story.

If that's the case, then Williams' crop emphasizes those by making the body parts larger, while Bernardo's crop completely eliminates them by hiding one of each part, yes?
fotografz
I'd agree with that, but I would not have used such a wide angle for a people shot in the first place. IMO, 35mm is about it for that close.
david_schilling___chicago_
Seems to me the eyes are telling the story but it's one of mystery. She might be somewhat apprehensive, or stressed, or tired/pensive, comforted/safe in her new husbands arms, perhaps even annoyed with the photographer....I donno, but that's part of the appeal for me, it leaves me drawn-into the image. I also think that the wide-angle distortion and the clutter-rich background provides an edgy, campy, street-feel to the scene.....which also draws the attention back to the bride's eyes. It's almost as if the photographer took this shot as a spur of the moment reflex in an effort to record the moment in a genuine PJ style. I think this falls into the "something differrent" category from the usual portraits and documentary reportage wedding images.
