Have you heard of slacklining, it seems to be catching on, at least that is what my teenagers tell me. They string a line between two trees and walk on it. Unlike tightrope walking the line flexes quite a bit. Here is the line shot with a 35mm mf lens at 1/20 of a second at f2.8 with a d200.

Amazing photos this week everyone.

00UC8o-164455584.jpg.86c9db24aa04c752898fd718caf9f309.jpg

"It's a dry heat" is the common saying. In the desert southwest July through September bring the summer thundershowers of Monsoon Season, with torrential downpours helping to quench the 100°F+ temperatures, often an inch or more in 1/2 hour. This was taken last Wednesday evening, near the Saguaro National Park East in Tucson, Arizona.

00UC92-164461584.jpg.0d104e5b540a02657126617da92e416d.jpg

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday. There are so many great pictures posted already.

I took this picture last Saturday at Shoreline, in Mountain View, CA, where I visit almost every weekend. Though I go there often, I always seem to have a few surprises waiting for me. I am amazed that in the middle of Silicon Valley to find so much natural beauty.

This Saturday, after I walked more than two hours amidst this splendor, I found this curious Cormorant just standing on a pole posing for a photo.

we've had a run of exceptionally hot weather here in central virginia, so i've had to take my time during afternoon outings. one thing that's none the worse for heat is the thistles. and where there are thistles, you can almost count on bees, butterflies and goldfinches. no goldfinch in this frame, but it still captures the moment. even more exciting is an american kestrel that's showed up here recently. never seen one before, and i've only managed to photo him at a distance, but i'll get a close-up eventually!

00UC9W-164469584.jpg.f5097535d3e0da6dc1950a32f28502af.jpg

A very recent NX2 'final' of a not-so-recent capture - though oneof my favourites from a trip to Paris last year...

Wonderful work everyone, it just keeps getting better and better...

00UC9Z-164471684.thumb.jpg.edd87ba727fd7eb1bae6a0eb9b975246.jpg

Jose – Thanks for kicking off the thread as always. Must admit, I have been unhappy with the auto ISO function, as it seems to kick up ISO in situations where I didn't expect it; my post for example, shot mid-day with good light, but ISO adjusted to 1600 because the lighting in the cab where I was sitting was minimal.

Everyone with great shots, some of my favorites so far…

Mike C – Love the rustic feel

Dieter – Transported back to another time

Kent – Excellent “urban-scape”

Matt – Super macro and great light

Justin – Beautiful capture, the trust in a babies eyes

Sasa – Wow, vivid colors

John – Nice composition, really feel the age of the truck

Nimesh – I never got anywhere that fast in Mumbai!

Phil – I like the DOF perspective

Shot from the backseat of NYC cab, caught a bit of a glare from some old tape on the window.

00UCAK-164477584.JPG.4f033346dfb7fb3242f8970c93010ae0.JPG
