Film photos to go with a "film myths" article

Recommended Posts

Howdy folks,

I need somefilm images to go with an old PN article that was just brought to my

attention.

http://www.photo.net/learn/color_myths

It's an article about myths about color film processing/printing, It's

pretty interesting and I'm going to promote it in the newsletter next

week. But there are no images to go with it and articles with no

images on a photography site are BORING. So, if you've got a film

based image that you think would work well for the article, please

post it here.

HOWEVER, and this is very important, if you would like your image to

be considered for inclusion in the article, it must exist in your

gallery here on photo.net. If you hotlink from Flickr or where ever,

it won't be put in there (unless you also have a copy in your PN gallery).

I put this in my gallery here: http://www.photo.net/photo/9578322

I used an XD11, Vivitar S1 28-90 and house branded Fujicolor 200.

The article referenced seems to be abut processing at home, and this was processed

at a store, is that ok? I don't do C41 at home, probably because I never read the article

and learned it's not as bad as I think it is :) It hasn't been postprocessed except for

scanner software levels and a bit of a crop.
00U7GU-161259584.jpg.8e081cb3c041d871d1048b8a760a281f.jpg

Some Kodak UC400, deliberately handed off to a Costco

assembly line for souping and scanning in their normal way, to

see how they'd treat it, and what I'd get back as a JPG from them.

It's in my gallery here, at:

And yes... it did make me wonder about processing and scanning

this stuff myself!
00U7Ji-161291584.jpg.a6e1df309b61cc719d02d63644b7d96c.jpg

When you say it needs to be "good" that really does put some pressure on those submitting photos.

Oh heavens you are a self critical bunch. If you think it's "good" then it's good.

Just post some purty pitchures. This ain't the National Gallery, I just want to add some photos to an overlooked article that has a lot of good info in it. If nobody submits photos, then I'll just cram more of my own images in there. But I thought it might be more fun to get some visibility for others.

I was trying to figure out how my portfolio would fit into your "myths" as examples, but if you would like to use any of my portfolio as just "purdy pitchers", you'n 'ud be welcome to any of mine.My daughter says they're kinda "postcardy" if that 's what you need. Most of them were shot on Kodachrome or GAF 500, as indicated.

Hi Josh,

I posted some film images on the Post Your Velvia Shots Here thread. Please let me know if any of them would be useful for your article. I don't want to re-post them into a second thread, as I read somewhere that that's frowned upon at PN.

Perhaps normally. but when the guy who runs the site (me) is making the request, you can reasonably assume that the normal rules don't apply.
