greg_thomas6
I am new to radio slaves and was looking to purchase several. I need to be able to shoot at high shutter speeds (above 1/1000th) my camera and my speedlights are capable of high sync. I was also wondering if it is possible to control the power output of a speedlight with a radio slave?
Thanks, Greg
bryantan
Radiopoppers or the new Pocket Wizards. Both are TTL, which means you can control FEC from the camera. As far as I know, there is not a radio slave that allows full remote manual control for speedlights.
Charles_Webster
Why do you need to shoot at 1/1000 shutter speed?

In strobe photography, the strobe duration is what actually stops the action, not the shutter speed. High-Speed Sync (Canon) flashes the strobe repeatedly to provide even illumination across the frame. At the expense of overall flash power.

Tell us a little more about what you're trying to accomplish and perhaps we can offer some suggestions because radio slaves aren't going to sync at 1/1000.

<Chas>

btmuir
I suspect that he is trying to kill as much ambient as possible.
The new TTL Pocket Wizards will sync at higher speeds and I beleive I just saw someone say the Elinchrome skyports are spec-ed to 1/ 1000 but I cant confirm at the moment.
greg_thomas6
I am shooting action in broad daylight, mostly mountain biking and skiing. I was thinking that the strobe would be used to add light to shadows and not as the primary source of light. The high shutter speed is to stop the action completely for a sharp crisp image. The strobe would give the subject some "pop" in the picture. So any advice on radioslave that have a high speed sync?
Thanks
