steven_wolff
Thanks for looking at my post. Up until yesterday, My Canon EOS 500 (Rebel T1i) was saving RAW & JPEG as two seperate files just fine on a 16gig flash card. When I went to download them, they are being saved as JPEG instead of CR2 files.
Not sure if this is a Windows problem or a Camera problem. When I switch to RAW only mode, it see's it just fine as a raw file and I can save it on Windows as a Raw file. But some how, out of the blue, it's acting weird and saving it as JPG.
Any help would be great!

Thanks!

PuppyDigs
On most cameras RAW only works in the "Creative Zone" (P, Av, Tv, M, ADEP). Perhaps you accidentally set one of the "Basic Zone" modes (Full Auto, Sports, etc.). Images in the BAsic Zone are normally saved as JPEGs.
Sometimes the light’s all shining on me. Other times I can barely see. - Robert Hunter
michaeljlawson
If you search the forums for "two jpeg" you will see several posts on this like this one: http://www.photo.net/canon-eos-digital-camera-forum/00RHMM
A common cause is using an older version of the tranfer software. Are you using Canon's software? If so make sure it's updated. Can also be worked around by manually transferring files with a card reader instead of using the camera and software.
