Keep in mind that the ¡VivaFILM! project has only been up for 48 hours or so. Plenty more to come.

Jonathon Reynolds - Developing b/w film without without a proper darkroom
Daniel Bayer - Building a darkroom
Brendan Hohls - Getting a group together to talk about film in your local area
Doug Grosjean - Guide to swing lens photography
John O'Keefe-Odom - Camera as enlarger
Bruce Cahn - Setting up a wooden field camera
Rishi Sanyal - Advanced scanning
Tim Gray - Using Vuescan

Now, don't hold them to anything. They are all busy guys doing this out of the goodness of their heart and I'm sure the articles will be written as soon as everyone has time. But if you have any interest in the project or these articles, please drop them a line of encouragement. I myself will be working on a few film photographer interviews and of course more Filmtown articles.

These are all uncharted waters for PN at this point. But I'm hoping to get film.photo.net up in some fashion next week. However, Jin and the programmers are all tied up trying to get the last of the ImagePro reprogramming finished.

One (or both) of two things will probably happen. I'll probably throw up a completely simple plain page at film.photo.net to keep people organized. Plus, I may start some sort of email notification list to let people who are interested in film photography keep updated.

At the very least, I will post updates here on the film/processing forum.

Josh, I'm really excited to read about all this. And thanks to everyone who is planning to write an article! I can't wait to read them.

If we are interested in writing articles to contribute, do we just contact you directly?

National/regional/city listings of quality labs might be worthwhile, especially those willing to do mail order. Just a thought...

Funny you should mention that. I was just drafting up an idea for the programmers to asist in creating a lab database.

Why restrict it to one country? You have readers from all kinds of places.

Nobody mentioned limiting anything to any particular country. So I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Sorry; a previous comment called for a "national/regional/city" registry and I got worried a database would be geared towards USA only (ie. require contact info in that local format and so on). That still happens with some frequency so I perhaps overreacted a bit.

While it is possible that we would start such a thing with a US system, if only for the simplicity of creating and testing it, it would not make sense for anything to be "USA only". I would expect that we would end up with a worldwide system in some fashion as our final goal

National=nation, like different countries, Janne. PN has always been international. My intent was building a list for countries, regions within countries, cities in regions, OK? I'm sensitive to your concern by living in Canada whose total population is smaller than California's.
