This week we are starting a day late due to the Easter Weekend.
This thread is for submitting recent (up to two weeks) wedding images and one will be chosen for discussion for the rest of the week.
It is much like the Photo of the Week that is featured on photo.net The POW (photo of the week) is not a contest for the best photo of the week but a photo chosen for discussion/critique.
On this thread you can post ONE image - 700 pixels in width or less. If it's a link, I'll have to delete it and you can resubmit. Josh is going to look into if we can do 700 pixels width and to make it more fair - also 700 pixels high max...
Anyway, a little technical data would be good as always. No theme.
Monday (THIS WEEK TUESDAY) late afternoon - the thread will be closed and one will be picked for a week long critique. So - if you are brave enough - you may be picked and subject to discussion. This could be enormously helpful to newcomers as well. You could learn an awful lot on everything from composition to lighting etc..
The image will be picked at random. This is not a contest nor a prize.
YOU MAY WISH TO OPT OUT OF THE 'PICK' FOR THE PHOTO OF THE WEEK Learning thread with full critiques... If so - just state it in the details with the image.
So - START POSTING ;-) If it goes well, Josh will create a permanent gallery for this just like he does for the monthly themed contest.
Once a random image is picked for the week - it will be posted on Tuesday (This week - Wednesday) . Remember that we want good solid critiques - not "great image" or "This doesn't work for me" - but more detailed. We will want to hear what works and why - what does not work and why. Please don't critique these submitted images - wait for the Photo of the Week to be posted.

Ok, I'll try this. Please don't be to harsh as I am still learning....
This year will be my second and a half year, all tought by books and forums. Thanks for all the wonderful people...
Effects added in LightRoom. Lighting is a mix of natural and bounced flash. Camera was a D40X with a Tamron 28-70 F2.8 and a SB600.
Don't remember the rest of the info. Hope you like it!

Nikon D300 with an SB-800 bounced off a low ceiling and a Demb flip-it about vertical. The room was dark and what there was of a background was distracting and ugly. Bumping up the blacks in LR got rid of what was left of it. f5.6, 1/50th. Not sure if she closed her eyes or blinked. Wish I had a little more of dad in there, but the focus is supposed to be on her.

00T3PM-124635584.jpg.4a88d4db80318305bdc0770f0374df11.jpg

Hmm, I don't remember the technical stuff, although I can look when I get home. Probably was taken with either a D200 or D80. I *think* it was a 50mm (or 85mm) prime lens. This particular shot was actually a candid while I was looking for angles to take a few "informal" type formals from. Natural light on a cloudy day. In fact, it rained for 15 minutes right after their ceremony, and then remained overcast.

Here's one I shot Saturday. 1/160 at f13, ISO 200 on a Sony A700, JPEG capture. Had a Sony 56 flash on a light stand off to the right about 30 degrees from me aimed at the guys for flash fill, connected with a dedicated sync cord that's about 10' long to maintain TTL and HSS functions. I could have triggered it wirelessly with the Cybersyncs, but I was also doing some HSS shots at the time and needed that functionality. This was about 5 minutes before the guys had to head for the ceremony, so I did not have time to rearrange the two middle shorter guys with the two taller guys on the end. If I had, I think I would have had a better diagonal alignment of their heads. Next time...
