jose_angel
Wednesday again! I have on my D700 the new 50/1.4AFS, hmmmm... I have mixed feelings. Don`t want to take conclusions before some hundred shots, I know I`m so reluctant to changes and usually need a long period to get used to something new.
It was a good deal and just plunged right in. Why not? I thought. After all it -must- be better than my clapped out 50/1.8AFD...

First shots, first impressions; it`s a HUGE lens. I`m not used to this size in a "standard" FL lens... Ouch! Second, AF speed as mentioned here many times seems t o o s l o o o o w ; probably it is almost as fast as my previous lens but the AFS gives this impression. Noisy screw lenses are aparently faster, but some aren`t. Third, bokeh is way better than the 50/1.8AFD. Thanks God. Ok, I`ll keep it.

Here is one of the fast dirt shots I took yesterday: halogen kitchen light, 1/30sec. wide open, 14bit RAW, 200ISO, all camera tricks off. Color rendering is warmer than usual, something that I really... ... ... well, I must use it more.
Please, feel free to post your Nikon pic here, keep the file size under 300Kb, only one post per participant. Thanks.

Ian Rance
Lamb at Abbotsbury, Dorset (St catherines chapel in the background). I have just returned from a photographic trip/holiday in Dorset and I really enjoyed just walking with my camera. I used my Pronea S with the 60-180mm IX-Nikkor.

hector_andrade
Hello everybody. Jose made me hungry, Nina made me think there is nothing wrong with my hair and Matthew made me want to travel. I'm waiting for Erick's concert picture hoping it will come with tickets as well...
Anyway here is my picture. It was taken on Friday in Balsfjord, Norway. The "spring" is starting so the sea trout is coming back to the coast. My crazy friends went fishing and I joined with my camera. It was -6 degrees and we were out for about 3-4 hours without catching any fish. At least I got a bunch of pictures and this is the one I liked the most. Hope you like it!
Happy eastern!

Kent Shafer
Being "of a certain age," Jake seems to benefit from a soft-focus approach. (Probably many of us would. Sometimes, when I'm having a rough day, I take off my glasses for awhile to make the world look a little fuzzier and friendlier.)

Nikon F, 50mm f/2 non-AI, Kodak Portra 160VC, 1/500 @ f/2.8. Scanned and converted to B&W in ACR, with lots of negative clarity. Some additional work in CS4.

hector_andrade
I forgot to say: my picture was taken with the humble kit lens 18-135 at 31 mm. Gary, amazing shot! Lets way for Rene's animals (birds, pets) to appear...

hamish_gray
Easter vacation and yesterday we went skiing (again!) but this time we decided to leave the beaten track and ski up one of the mountains in our area. The weather was absolutely perfect with almost no wind and no clouds, so I'm afraid I just have to post another landscape photo :-). This was our view not too far from the top, looking north.
D300 with nikon 12-24 @ 24mm. ISO 200, f5.6, 1/3200s.

Great shots with manu more more to come I am sure.

This past week comedian and actor Bob Marley came to town in a return to his home state of Maine. Some of you may know him. He does quite the comedy tour cross-country and played the detective in Boondock Saints.

Have a great week all and take care!

Gabe.

conwaygroup
Great start again with many more great pics to come I'm sure. Hector and Matt's are my favorites so far. Jose, I'd include yours but I don't like asparagus!
My shot taken with what seems to be a popular FL this week (50mm) is of the first ambassadors of spring to show up in my backyard. We have had snowstorms the past two Sundays and these guys somehow got their act together to put on a show regardless of the elements.
Happy Easter to all.
D2Hs 50mm 1.4D

This area is scheduled for revelopment soon into fancy apartments and retail units. It will be a great shame to loose the working docks so I have been trying to document the area before it goes.
Here is one from this week of a Dock worker, not lookign very busy!
Nikon D80 + 17+55mm @ 24mm, f3.2, 1/320, iso 100
Shot from the hip, just the bottom cropped off.
