bahrammonshat
I have had the 35-70 for 2 years now and got the 24-70 a few weeks ago, thiking that I would sell the 35-70 afterwards. I am not sure anymore, now that I have both. That's becuase of the size and weight of the 35-70 that is so convenient. Any experince? Thanks.
ShunCheung
I find the limited 35-70mm zoom range very inconvenient. On FX, 35mm is just barely a wide angle and I need to change lenses frequently to go down to 28mm, 24mm, etc. When I use either a 28-70 or 24-70, that can be the only lens on my camera in a lot of situations.
lou korell
I have the 35-70 and 28-70. Both are great lenses. I don't see a need for myself getting the 24-70 for a long time. The three things I really like about the 35-70 are: size (it's nice and compact), sharpness (it's great for portraits w/nice bokeh), and it has a micro feature (perfect for wedding details like ring shots).
I don't see the point in getting rid of such a good lens.
SolaresLarrave
I had the AF-S 24-120 VR before purchasing my AF-S 24-70 f2.8, and it never occurred to me to sell the one with VR. Sometimes, however, I wish the newer lens were a bit easier to carry... but that's an entirely different matter. There you go!
jimknowles
Sold my 35-70 f2.8 as soon as I started shooting with the 24-70 f2.8. The 24-70 does seem like a monster, but it's hands down the sharpest zoom Nikon has ever made. Sharp and absolutely instant focusing. Love the 14-24 2.8 as well. Different animal, but equally incredible.
