cabbiinc
Skyports are reliable enough. I have a pair and they just work. But if the Cybersyncs were around I would have considered them for sure. http://www.alienbees.com/remotes.html

pge
When it was time for me to graduate from the ebay triggers I did a bunch of research and ended up with the skyports. They have been great, they work evertime.

jerry s
I bought Skyports as part of a recent lighting upgrade. Using Elinchrom RX monolights, You can control the power settings from the transmitter (in groups, or all at once). Using the USB transceiver allows you to designate lighting groups and control all light functions from your PC. Haven't had any problems with the working distance; they perform reliably from several feet (most I've tested was about 20' away), inside boxes/octadomes, and around large obstructions such as fronts and sides of softboxes.
primeimages
If proprietary batteries are not your thing, I'd go with the Cybersyncs that use rechargeable or alkaline AA batteries.
