Just Curious....what happened to my submittal?

MODERATOR NOTE: Hi Michael.. Check your inbox! Hopefully you are using your correct email address on PN. Or, maybe it got caught in the spam filter? I had to delete 18 images from both forums combined because somewhow some people missed the directions at the top of the thread. All IMAGES NEED TO BE 500 PIXELS OR LESS IN WIDTH (I'm not yelling - just posting in caps so other's with new entrees see it too).

Thanks Mr. Church... Hope you resubmit. Deadline is tonight ;-) If you miss the deadline - email me and maybe (no promises) I can open the thread for you.

Pentax K10D, 16-50 DA* @ 24mm, f/4, 1/45 sec, ISO 400, Novatron 400 w/s kit about 15 pews back (2 lights, shoot thru umbrellas).

btw, as a fellow K10 shooter with a '56 Buick, I'm voting for Peter Soszek; the only wedding pix I have with a '56 Buick are from MY WEDDING (which I obviously didn't shoot).

00SJY1-107908184.jpg.65e87cf71c76d81ab01cd1271a2ca70c.jpg

An hour before the wedding, a torrential downpour caused the lights to go out for 30 minutes in part of the city where I was shooting. It took the mother of the bride holding a flash light, and the father of the bride along with a few bridesmaids to get the dress laced up.
As an aside, the rain stopped minutes before we all had to leave for the ceremony. The storm continued while we were inside the church, stopped for the receiving outside, and carried on during the 20 minute drive to the reception venue. It was grey and dark as the rain pelted, and we hydro-planed our way there.
As soon as we arrived, there were bright blue skies and the sun was hot, drying up everything around us - just on time for family formals outside - Amen!
Actually Moderator, the directions above states this: "500 pixels or less please (even though you have the ability normally to do 700 pixels or less"

There is no wording that suggests "Width" in the statement above which would default the submissions of many here that exceed the 500 limit vertically.

MODERATOR NOTE: Jammey - The site rules for the forums is that images should be 700 pixels in width or less. Many people already know this and they do know it has to do with width.

The message about that is right on the page when you upload images.

it says:

If you wish your image to show up as an image and not a link, the maximum file size is 100 KBytes (full-size images from digital cameras won't work). Please crop or downsize to a width of 700 pixels for inline display; larger images and file sizes will appear as a link. You also need to provide a caption for your image. Images without captions will show up as links

So - that is why I wanted to make sure that was corrected to 500 for space saving reasons. That is for the people that read the specs for uploading so that when they saw width of 700 - they'd know we are requiring 500. However, Just for You - I've edited the thread intro to be more clear.

I love this shot! I was thrilled to capture the brides smile, their romantic body posture and the urban, romantic ambiance of the setting all in one shot. Tech info is: nikon D3, iso 1600, 45mm, 1/60 at f4.5 -1/3EV, fill flash, aperture priority center weighted metering. 24-120 nikor lens. The only touch ups are 1.vignette added in lightroom. 2. candle moved in ps elements so it wasn't coming out of the grooms head anymore.

Hi all, the end of 2008 was my third year of capturing weddings. I do not do many, but do enjoy very much the ones that I do!

The one I have submitted is probably one that remains truest to my creative style of shooting a wedding. I love capturing emotion and letting my clients 'be'...

ISO100, 28mm, f/4, 1/100sec. Handheld. Late evening. Portable studio strobe.

Post work included the substantial blur you see.

Thank you. :)

00SK0e-108019684.jpg.ac17432f3db2d65444cf42dcd2e40b83.jpg

MODERATOR NOTE:

I can't promise to catch you before the thread closes when/IF

1) You are making some kind of mistake in your HTML when using outside links to upload a photo to this forum. (I SUGGEST UPLOADING FROM YOUR DESKTOP TO AVOID THIS)

2) 500 PIXELS OR LESS PLEASE -- IN WIDTH --... THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY 700 PIXELS IN WIDTH WHEN YOU GET TO THE UPLOAD PAGE - IGNORE THAT AS I have stated in the intro to these threads...

3) NO LINKS PLEASE - UPLOAD IMAGE TO PAGE AND TO DO THAT YOU ALSO NEED TO REMEMBER TO PUT A CAPTION IN THE CAPTION BOX.

Please review your entry after uploading. If it is a link - try again (I'll delete the original for you). If it is too large - or doesn't show up - try again.

Anything entered past 6pm that does not comply will be deleted. At some point I have to close the thread and won't be able to give you time to re-submit as I've been doing.

I've already gone through twice now and given people chances to resubmit. Looking forward to getting together with the judges and reviewing both threads.

Thanks for the great participation!!
