They really are kind of funny sounding.
Saramon...Summaron...Summicron...Summarex...Somminex....who knew?
john_boyle3
Daniel, if you think the lens names sound funny you should take a look at the Leitz codewords. One of the real gems is "NOOKY".

vic_.
Alex, The viewfinder on the M2 looks as if it is in the initial stages of decementing, which sometimes does not progress beyond what can be seen in the picture. Perhaps an expert could provide a second opinion.

Is the black paint a Shintaro job or is it an original?

fredonian
Or should I say was...It's now likely crumbs underneath Mrs. Krauter's workbench. Unless however she reused the original wax when she applied the traditional Leitz serviced "L" seal.

enw
I'm the OP... wow, 112 responses! I thought I'd get 6 or 7. Many thanks to everyone that commented. I've scratched the itch and I now have a 35mm f/2 Summicron-M ASPH and a 75mm f/2 APO-Summicron-M ASPH sitting on my desk. My M7 will hopefully be delivered in a day or so and I can't wait! - Eric
