photolma
Good morning, I was wondering if there were any canadian hosted sites like PhotoReflect(Express Digital) or DigitalRoad ? This is to be able to charge my potential customers in Canadian currency and nothave to pay taxes to IRS but only Canadian taxes. Kind regards, Luis
Ian Shalapata
Luis, My understanding is that taxes in the US are based on residency so you wouldn't have to pay US taxes (income or state sales tax) if you don't live in the States. In Ontario, if you provide an electronic file as opposed to a hard copy, you don't even need to charge provincial sales tax. But talk to an accountant to get the exact take on your own tax situation. Ian Shalapata
Let me be a bit more clear. What I meant to say is "charge and remit" state taxes. Obviously if you're in the States and buy something you have to pay state sales taxes. photolma
Hi Ian, Thanks for the reply, actually my potential clients are local, on the Montr顬 North Shore and no one from the US. Kind regards, Luis
photolma
Hi Ian, I went to check the Pikto.ca site and it looks good but they handle the printing. At least with Photoreflect, they handle the credit card processing and I get to choose which lab (either theirs or my own choice) I get the final product from. Currently doing business with a large print lab and my software JPGs output are calibrated with their printer (ICC Profiles). I use Capture One 4 for Windows from Phase One. (http://www.phaseone.com/) Kind regards. Luis Freelance Sports Photographer
peter_kopp
I hope this does not sound like a used car sales person talking but I work and use Photo Stock Plus and I love it. The cool thing is that they do the creditcard, shipping, lab and they also help market for stock photos worldwide. They allow the artist to sale stock and event photography. At there own price. If you want you could see it on the web site at www.photostockplus.com . The coupon code for the free trail is VIP108 if you want. It just gets you backstage to see the up loader tool and play around with your e-commerce site that they give. If you want you could call me at work which is 1 866 268 9206 ext 243 My name is Peter Kopp and we are based out of the beautiful island of Montr顬. Im sorry if this sounded like a pitch. But as a fellow artist I find they helped me a lot. Cheers Peter
colin starks pics
<p>I also live in Canada and was looking for a good website for displaying and selling my sports images...I settled with photoreflect after seeing that they have express digital labs in Toronto (Canada's largest city with about 4 000 000 people) and Vancouver. I really liked smugmug but I found out that they all sales are in U.S. funds and they do the processing. I didn't want the added expense to my customers of shipping from the States to here in Canada which could amount to more than their order! I've just joined today and will keep you "posted" on how it goes from here...wish me luck.</p>
