Hmmm, Thats interesting, the exif is gone? It seems ever since I started to use photobucket it strips it down.
Dale, Thanks!...I was using my K10D with Tamron 18-250mm lens. ISO 400, Aperture was between F/5.6 and F8, Shutter speeds varied between 1/160-1/200. Shooting in bright mode, +2 sharpness, +1 contrast, +1 saturation and I only shoot jpeg.

Excellent stuff Javier.. you get some great street shots..
Looking at your second set, and in particular the first photo.. I can see why some people would want to commit a crime. LOL

Javier....
For a long time I have been enjoying your picture's here on photo.net and decided that you should be included in a small group of photographers that at the moment only includes Hin and Justin.....
I just like anything this small group contributes with..... in your case, I just love your "street photography" ...those sharp picture's with rich colours
But, I want to ask you one question though.... Do you add some extra sharpness to your picture's (Adobe) ? Don't misunderstand this question because I like "super sharp" picture's...
Keep up the good work.......K

@Jemal, Thank you. I know you shoot mostly in RAW and you do well with it. I am not sure I would change what your doing if it where me.
@Kari. Thank you very much for the kind words. The rich colors are mostly due to Pentax Jpeg processing and figuring out what settings work with what lenses and keeping an eye on the ''color'' histogram. As far as sharpness goes, I have a setting in CS3 that works for me. After I have cropped or resized, I simply apply the setting to it and post. I will do a screen shot of my settings since I had a couple of e mails asking me about it.
Keep in mind that I also use the in body pentax sharpening + 2 setting always and avoid the noise by using relatively high ISO.

Great Street Photography Javier. I don't know if you check TOP's blog, but I couldn't believe how "In-your-face" this photographer took the street photography to a new level. I don't think I could do that, and certainly not in California. I would be killed! Take a look.

Yvon, Thanks a bunch. I can't do that in your face street stuff. In a UK forum I have been posting in, it is all about in your face stuff. I just can't do that. That video had me rolling, but if he did that in LA, he would get a beat down! lol.....
Have you been following the K1000?

Javier, I'm following the K-1000 as best as I can, but since I do not have the itinerary, I think once it gets to me and when I return the camera to you, I will post the places the camera went, along with the pictures and photographers involved, after you have the images and you review the results.

It still should be interesting

Javier, fascinating images once again... really cool to get a glimpse of what another member's neighbourhoods are like. So do the cop and MJ just stand around for photo ops? If I ever saw them I might give wacko-jacko the camera and have him take a snap with me and cop... I'm just saying...
Also, I like the 4th and 5th where the 2 youngstas and the older fella is looking at you, and in your b&w set, is that meghan mccain lol?!
and these shots are taken in december... sheesh...

Excellent shots, Javier!! Let there be no question once and for all, JPEG shots CAN look great!!! And without question, the K10D can deliver fine JPEGs too, with some added sharpening. I wonder what the K20D would have done in comparison? And how would the settings be different?

Javier, you have some fine-looking cops in LA!! Part of the sight-seeing, I expect!

@ Somanna, Thank you! L.A. does provide a ton of shooting places. As far as the MJ and Cop go, They work for tips. Usually a buck each for three images. Usually they take them with the kids or family members, but had I shot Daniel or ''ME'' with Michael and that ''OFFICER'', I would have got a beat down from my wife, so no go. ;-)

@Michael K..Thank You! I for the meantime have shelved RAW. I tried it for a couple of weeks and I saw no difference, so for me, I will stick with J-pegs. As for comparing it to my K20D, I can assure you that for these types of pictures, there is ''NO'' difference. None at all. As for the settings, those are different. I have everything in Nuetral but usid the vivid mode and max sharpening as well. The only time the K20D makes a difference over the K20D is in ultra high ISO settings 1600 and above.

Hi Folks,
I had a few ask about the settings I use for sharpness. ''I'' have found that when posting on P.net it is best to resize to the 700pix wide (max for p.net) and when doing your PP do it at 100%. Anyway, my final step is to do a smart sharpen. This is a screen shot of what works best for me in P.net posting. If a picture needs more sharpening I will run the sharpening again instead of increasing it. The temptation is to oversharpen.
