marilyn_masters
I have one of these Olympus lenses and am wondering if it can be used on either my Nikon F90X or my D80?
User_502260
I donlt think you will be able to get proper infinity focus with any kind of adapter. You will also not have regular metering or nay automatic focusing. If you can live with these limitations then you should be able to cobble together an adapter which will allow you to use the lens in the close-up range only. If this is the 90mm f/2 Zuiko Macro you can sell it for enough to get a very nice 105 Micro Nikkor and you will probably have money left over. lex_jenkins
For macrophotography the infinity focus limitation is irrelevant, tho' I see mixed reports around the web regarding the availability of an adapter for using Zuikos on Nikon bodies. A non-optical adapter that doesn't allow focusing to infinity is *possible* but I don't know whether anyone has bothered to make one. Too bad. BTW, while I don't know how practical it is with a 90mm lens, any lens can be reverse mounted for macrophotography. I've seen adapters that were threaded on one side for the filter mount of a lens and fit directly to a Nikon F mount body. More common are adapters that are threaded on both sides. For example, I use an adapter that's 49mm threaded on one side for my Olympus P&S digicam and 52mm on the other for reverse mounting one of my Nikkors. There's heavy vignetting of the edges, but the center is incredibly sharp and reverse mounting a lens retains full autofocus and autoexposure capability on the camera body, if desired or necessary (P&S cameras are usually miserable performers with their "manual focus" option). Before selling that Zuiko I'd buy another OM-1 or even consider an Olympus dSLR with adapter. Several years ago Gary Reese tested most Zuikos and some other lenses and found that the 90/2 Zuiko Macro outperformed the 90/2 Summicron-R by a small margin. OTOH, it is a legendary lens and you certainly won't lose any money by selling it to finance a Nikon mount lens.
vivek iyer
As Jeff and Lex said, sell it and get a cheaper 105/2.8 AF Micronikkor.
rick_keir
For macro use, only: you could use it on a T-Mount bellows (Vivitar made one). Put the Nikon AI T-mount on the back, and the Olymput T-mount on the front of the bellows.
suchismit1
Get an EOS body. Zuiko lenses loooove Canon EOS ! I use my Zuiko 90/2 on a Canon 20d with a $12 adapter I got from eBay. The results speak for themselves. As an added benefit you will still have automatic metering which you wouldn't on a Nikon body.
