"date of last contribution" means what?

When I look at the list of "people who have marked you as interesting" on my page and see that on a given date one

of those people has "made a contribution" I don't necessarily see anything connected to that person, no rating, no

critique, so I wonder, what activities constitute a "contribution"?

Also, another (I suspect) technically closely related question: When I'm on my page and see that one of the people I

have marked as interesting has an updated date next to their name it means what? I've gone to look at the page of

one of my favorites based on that date and I don't see anthing new there.

It definitely includes the last time a person made a comment of any kind, whether on a photo or in a forum. Yet I, too, sometimes see an interesting person having done something on a given day where I don't see a new photo submission or any new comments, so I'm not sure what they might have done. I know that simply logging on and reading comments and looking at photos will not get you an updated "made a contribution today" but it's likely that doing some anonymous rating through the queue will get you updated, and I don't think anyone would see hard evidence that you've done that kind of rating, so it may appear you've been inactive when in fact the anonymous rating you've done is just the kind of acitivity that goes unnoticed but gets you updated.

The site has been around for over a decade with multiple programmers doing things different ways. Sometimes I'm not 100% sure on minor technical issues like this. Had this been something crucial to site operation, I would have asked Jin to dig through the databases to look for it. As it is, I'm 98% sure that my answer is the correct one and I would rather not pull Jin away from the work he is doing just to track down the other 2%.
