l_a_k_h_i_n_d_e_r
I see a lot of softboxes advertised for Broncolor (and Profoto) etc, from Korea (on ebay). Has anybody used them, and would share their experience? I have always liked Broncolor quality -- simply unrivaled. And wanted to buy a medium size softbox (for Pulsohead) which can also handle modeling lights. Buying new is not an option -- too expensive. And used softboxes aresometimes iffy, and very few show up on the auction site. Any pointers? Thanks.
leicaglow
I think you'd probably be better off buying decent quality non-Broncolor soft boxes than to buy something off fleabay from Korea, marked with the Broncolor logo. In fact, I'd go as far to say you should probably only buy Broncolor from an authorized Broncolor dealer. They are few and far between, but at least you know what you're getting. If you live in a big enough city, you might get a dealer to sell you a used piece from rental at a bargain.
richard_quindry
I agree with Michael. I use Broncolor lighting and love their equipment, but I wouldn't think of buying their softboxes. I have 10 Chimera lightboxes and have been extremely happy with the quality of the light they output and the quality of construction. Get one of their Broncolor speedrings to use them with Broncolor. There are lots of them out there, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding used ones. RIch Quindry www.Quindry.com
