john_lavis1
Hopefully you have photoshop. If you do, follow these instructions to fake a HDR photo: http://www.nill.cz/index.php?set=tu1

dallalb
You have to take different exposures of the same picture, then use HDR techniques to merge them and Tonemapping to create a different look. Tou can take photos of textured surfaces (such as canvas, walls, etc.) and use them as layers (playing with blending modes and opacity) in your images to give them a painting look. Then you can play with filters and masks...
mike_stemberg
Google/Check out the 'Art History Brush' tool in Photoshop (here's assuming you have that) or check out a program called Corel Draw.
william_lawless
Try www.RetouchPro.com. There is thread that covers the subject. Some of the techniques might interest you. Most of the tutorials use PhotoShop but they are universal in concept.
pam_r
<p><i>"I would like to know how to make my pictures look like paintings.A lot of photographers here make this."</i></p> <p>What is your idea of "looking like paintings? There are a TON of looks or styles out there that involve various techniques. If you could point out an example or 2 we could narrow the choice of technique and maybe get you closer to your goal. :-)</p>
