Robert DeCandido PhD
Hello, Currently there is a promotion for those who are signed up with Microsoft's cashback program, and who purchase a Nikon item at Ebay using the "Buy it Now" option. For details, see this thread: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/693184 I just purchased the Nikon 60mm AFS lens for approx. $475 new (with Nikon 5 yr warranty) less approx. $140 (30% discount). I am not sure if the discount applies to any Nikon item for which you use the "Buy it Now" option. Note that the maximum amount of cashback you will get for any one purchase is $200. Here is info about the cashback program: http://search.live.com/cashback/ Hope this helps! Robert DeCandido NYC

reichard
I fussed for two months with Live Search / eBay / PayPal cashback. Finally gave up and bought my D300 and a few lenses at Adorama and a Nikon Extended warranty ($59). Had everything the next day.
stwrtertbsratbs5
I only see 6% cash back from a seller that I normally would not frequent. No thanks - I'll stick with bhphoto or Adorama.
mjt
Personally, I avoid eBay like the plague. I ordered my D700's via Jellyfish, er, Cashback Live,<br /> at 15% off from J&R. I should get the Cashback checks at the end of this month.
Robert DeCandido PhD
Hello, If you follow the instructions the FM forum (link above), yes the 30% (up to $200) cash back does work...Just follwo instructions - they are not too tough. If a Bronx kid like me can muddle his (my) way through it, any American can... Good Luck! rdc/bx
stwrtertbsratbs5
The $2418 D700 purchase in the fredmiranda.com posting is gray market. I'd rather pay more and buy a camera that Nikon USA will service.
leonard_forte1
Robert. There is no indication on the ebay webpage about any cahsback. How do I know I will get it? It still is not clear to me how you know.
Robert DeCandido PhD
Hello, Robert: buy whatever your heart desires - grey or not...but you can find full USA Nikon items on Eb*y using the Buy it Now option. 1) Go to Microsoft Live Search and type in - Wii - 2) You'll see next to "Cash Back Results: 1,678 results" and then the word WEB (in blue) - click on Web (in blue) 3) The first result that comes up is Wii - www.Eb*y.com - CLICK ON THIS LINK! 4) You will now be transported to Eb*y-land 5) In the Eb*y search box, type in any Nikon item you want (EG, in my case 60mm macro AFS) 6) The list of items for sale comes up - look for one with the "Buy it Now" option. 7) Click on the item to BUY IT NOW. You will likely have to sign into your Eb*y account at this point - automatically done for some). Once you are signed in to Eb*y, you will be transported to a screen that says "Review and Commit to Buy." AT THIS POINT THERE WILL BE A BOX THAT INDICATES HOW MUCH MONEY (30% or $200 - WHICHEVER IS LESS) YOU WILL RECEIVE IN YOUR ACCOUNT via CASH BACK. 8) YES I AM NOW SHOUTING 9) BUY OR DON'T BUY THE ITEM AT THIS POINT - I DON'T CARE. 10) I HAVE NOW STOPPED SHOUTING Robert DeCandido A CERTIFIED FOOL FROM THE BRONX - if he can do it so can You... leonard_forte1
Robert I followed your steps above and (I am from Canada) I don't see any cashback shown when I "buy it now". I assume its because I am from Canada. I would have bought a nikon 105mm Vr if I could get the cahshback. I guess this cashback applies only to US residents. Do you want to buy one for me :)
Robert DeCandido PhD
Yes American buyers (not Canadian) only...apologies for not making this clear....I'd purchase the lens for you Leonard but the 5 year warranty would probably not be transferable to you. With the old AIS lenses this was not much of a concern...but with VR and AF - having the 5 year warranty is importante!
