antony_glaser
Reading this thread 1978 was mentioned as a cut off date. Agreeing this is important or shortly selfcertification for a Classic Camera, is to become too self righteous and ultimately may extend to some peopleendearing themselves to their early Digital Cameras etc. We need to hold together, until the breakaway delugedrowns us out. A first step is to revise the purpose of the Forum, until then are holding our breathe for theseinterim changes
le-plume
mike: I recall my 11y.o. nephew being impressed by my YashicaMat124: "wow, that's cool. How many megapixels?"
tim_bradshaw1
I reckon a better name would be just "Classic cameras" or something like that. The whole manual/auto thing is just going to cause confusion. My Contaflex super Bs are clearly classics but have automatic exposure. That might seem nit-picking (it is nit-picking in fat), but things like the Pentax MX (manual) and LX (auto) are more interesting - if the MX is a classic then the LX really ought to be too. So I guess what I'm saying is: obviously the *actual* definition is going to be "it's a classic if we agree it is", so the title of the forum ought not to say something which confuses that. --tim

randyjay
So a Minolta XD11 with electronic shutter is okay? Been here a long time, never thought I'd see that happen. Bravo!
