bmm
Apologies if two very similar posts pop up - I thought I'd written this earlier but must not have confirmed as it did not come up. In all my musings about FX glass over the past week one thing I haven't asked about are my two inherited old zooms. I have the 35-105 and 70-210 AF-D variable aperture zooms from a relative who didn't use their old gear any more and passed it to me. Being originally bought as a kit with a film body (F401), I presume both lenses cover the full 35mm/FX frame. I am more interested in potentially using the 70-210 because on my current D80 at least, it is very sharp and also has an interesting 'character' which tends towards the cold/metallic and that I enjoy using for specific circumstances. So simply, is there any intrinsic reasons why these two zooms would not work with a D700?
Ed_Ingold
These lenses are completely compatible with the D700.
Rene11664880918
They WON'T work! The main problem is that you DON'T have a D700! :)
bmm
Rene you cheeky bugger! Of course you know that I am preparing for a planned purchase of that body in the Christmas-NY break. Maybe even a pick-up in person in New York as I'll be in the US during this period; I've been looking forward to browsing some of those big stores in reality, given how well I know them online! john_lai3
70-210mm AF-D works fine with D700. I have the lens and tried it on my D700, no issues... I used it on my D200 before too
