luis triguez
I never tested this lens that I’ve got two years ago. These holidays I had the opportunity to do it. I shot in colour negative Fuji X Superia 400 with an M3 and a LTM converter. I didn’t like the results with long distances, but with medium and short ones performed quite well.<div></div>

chuck_foreman1
Luis, Nice work Here! I like the color (yell vs bl) and sharpness (man vs horiz.) contrast in the first Photo. The sharpness of the lens is immaculate on the third and the great composition on the fourth is also to be commended. I have always admired the Canon results, although I have until recently no "Canon" equipment. My brother sent me his Canonet and I was surprised to see it is a QL17 III. A model that many hold in high regard. I need to try it out too! Thanks for posting photos!
michael_darnton1
Consider that the long-distance performance may be a focus problem. Canon RF lens focus cams are a bit "casual" and can use some adjustment. Focus on something a couple of miles away, and see if your lens is fully up against the infinity stop or not. . . . or even, in the other direction, if it can get to infinity, as far as the RF is telling you. I had three 135mm Canons, and every one was out of adjustment, as was my 85/1.5. Only the 85/1.8 was properly set up from the factory. Once they were set right, all of them were great lenses. gatorgums
You're not going to get much brighter, sharper or better rendered pictures than these; really nice , Luis!
tony_lockerbie
Great, I love these shots of old boats ( and 1 new one) to show off the quality of a lens. Number three is my favourite, nice colour and sharpness. I have a LTM Canon 85mm 1.9, and I don't use it near enough. This lens is beautifully built, heavy chrome plated brass, a real work of art. I reckon that your 135 is the same and you should try some B&W with it, some of your street shots with the aperture wide open would look great I think. luis triguez
Chuck, Thanks to you! Last year I was involved by the wave of positive opinions about QL17IIIs and finished buying one of them in eFlay. The seller never said the lot of fungus the lens had, so I didn’t even tried a roll with her. Hope the one your brother give to you is in better conditions than mine. I beg you some pictures as soon as you can.

luis triguez
Craig and Mike, You are quite right; the rendition of colour is fantastic with such an old lens. I hope to use it more often with colour film, even if I’m not so found with tele lenses. Thanks to both!
luis triguez
Tony, I was thinking to use it wide open but I didn’t have the occasion yet because the heavy sunny days and the 400 ISO of the Superia. I’m going to buy some 100 ASA one of these days. Grateful!
summitar
I am red-green color blind (I can't distinguish a caution light from a red light on traffic signals) and it kept me from being a pilot in the air force. But I can still tell that the colors in your photos are fantastic. I always enjoy your photos, Luis. It's not the camera and lens; it is the person holding the camera. By the way, the Konica auto S2 is superior to the Canon QL-III.
