pictures without memory card

I recently took a couple shots with my D300, without a memory card. The picures are there, in 'demo' mode. Is there a way to retrieve

them?

Short answer, NO.

My Nikons have a shutter lock option if there is no card. Find where yours is.

 

There was no picture recorded.

That would be Custom Setting f9. I would set it such that the shutter wouldn't fire if there is no CF card inside the camera.

 

The other option is for people who directly send the images to a computer instead of recording the images on a CF card.

OMG how in the world did you manage to do that? Like Ronald I cannot take pictures in my D200/D300 without a card in the camera.... I feel for you man!

That is crazy, every camera i've had won't even shoot without a memory card inserted....

Again, Nikon provides the option not to write into memory cards on their advanced cameras because not everybody needs to write their images onto memory cards.

 

Some people use a wired connection to write directly into a computer and some may use wireless transmision to send their images to a base station. That is why such option is available.

One of the reasons I never remove the memory card out of the camera and use a USB cord to transfer the files. Never the

less, I have it set not to shoot without a card.

through Nikon capture control?

Stanley Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 might do that. I am on a trip (and only have D3 or D700) otherwise I would try it out for you. Perhaps someone can try this for you.

 

And you never know - you might be famous for 5 minutes^^.
