juan_bonet
I know that if I want mount a Summitar on a M3, I need the adaptor ring, but I would like to know if its possible mount the Summitar on the M3, with the 90mm ring instead the 50mm ring. I know that appears the frame lines for the 90mm lens into the viewfinder, but in the M3 ever appears the frame lines from the 50mm in it. Is it possible or the rings are differents? Rob F.
Juan, it will work fine with the 90mm adapter, as long as you know that you will have the 90mm frameline in the finder along with the 50mm frame. If can ignore the 90mm frameline, and not be bothered by it, there should be no problem.
juan_bonet
Thanks Rob. I'll only use the 50mm framelines, that in the M3 are very clear.
vincenzo_maielli
If you mount the Summitar 50 with the 90 adapter ring, in the viewfinder will appear the 90 mm framing. If you don't want buy the correct adapter ring (not too expensive in the CV line) you need to block the framing lever in the 50 mm position with a little piece of Gaffer Tape. Ciao. djl251
The Summitar is a great lens and well worth mounting on your M3.
