stephaniesaniga
Whenever PS is turned off and restarted, all my preferences have to be reset to where I like them. i.e., numberof history states, palettes, etc. Isn't there a way to lock them? I've seen the Save Workspace, but not sureabout that. I'd like them to just stay where I set them. Thank you for your help.

michael_darnton1
I don't know anything about Macs, but at work the Mac there won't save my prefs because I'm not signed in as whatever the Mac equivalent of the administrator is. It gives me a little notice that it's not going to do it as it closes.
stephaniesaniga
Hmm... I haven't noticed that, but some of the time it closes unexpectedly, like a freeze, and I have to force quit, so I guess it wouldn't appear then. I'll also check my administrator, though it should be me. Thanks for your help!
silverdae
Go to window>workspace>save workspace. It will save all of your windows and tool preferences along with any menu highlighting. I'm not sure it will solve the problem of them resetting themselves, but it will add your workspace to the bottom of that menu (window>workspace>'your workspace') and in a click it is set back to the way you like it. joe_a2
"....but some of the time it closes unexpectedly, like a freeze, and I have to force quit..." Wow. Did a Mac user just admit to a lock-up??? :)~
patricklavoie
i think its fair to admit your software could crash on a Mac once upon a time, it balance for the 100000 users that dont report it on PC ; P I would trash all my pref and restart photoshop to start from scratch..and see what append. mark_dalrymple1
"Wow. Did a Mac user just admit to a lock-up??? :)~" Nah, just that the software decided to go south and contemplate its navel. The OS is still alive and kicking.
