Ian Taylor
35/1.4 + 85/1.8 for about 60%. Then 24/1.4, 50/1.4 & 24-70 for the rest.
bob_osullivan
One body on each shoulder. 5D with 85 1.8 or 50 1.4 and 30D 17-55 2.8 IS. Possibly both with flash Metz 45 CL or 580EX diffused or on bracket. Sometimes a film body around my neck like a voighlander rangefinder or Elan 7 with PanF and Tamron 28-75 2.8. Hip pack with whatever I"m not using at the time and possibly a long lens, CF cards and batteries.
fotografz
Personally, I determine which lenses will best fit the upcoming event and pack those. A mainstay is a Nikon 24-70/2.8AF ... followed by a Nikon 85/1.4. I've recently aquired a 70-200/2.8VR and will be trying that. That is more than enough to cover anything I would encounter at a wedding. However, I have many speciality lenses in Nikon mount, and frequently take one or two for a special look. These include a AF200/2VR+1.4X, AF14-24/2.8, AF100/2.8VR Macro, and varous Zeiss ZF manual focus lenses.
wedding-photography-denver
Marc, so you are slipping into the Nikon camp hu? I didn't know you liked them. Canon/Leica and Hassy seemed to be what you liked best.
ken c oshkosh, wi
What do I use at weddings? 14L, 24L, 35L, 50L, 85L, 100 macro, 135L, 300L 2.8IS, 70-200L, 24-70L (once in a while...) These go on a pair of 5Ds, a 40D and a 20D.
fotografz
HI david, not slipping ... slipped. I no longer own a single piece of Canon gear. No complaints at all regarding Canon except their wide angle lenses. A 12 meg., full frame, dual card slot is all I want or need for a wedding DSLR. I'm now shooting with a D3 and D700 back- up. FF got my attention ... but fully auto aperture Zeiss ZF lenses tipped the scales. The Nikons allow programing of any none CPU manual lens to maintain functions. daniel_sheehan
My all time favorite for wedding ceremony is the Canon 200mm f1.8, It is no longer made but they now have the 200mm f2.0 which should be just as good. photorexit photography - c
All Canon! 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM - 50mm f/1.2L USM - 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM are the three primary lenses i shoot with during weddings. I also use the 85mm f/1.2L II USM on occasion. Two 580 EX II flashes and a EOS-1D Mark III body.

tony_palmieri2
All Canon....24-70 2.8L , 70-200 2.8L and my 300mm 2.8L. 2 bodies; both Canon original 1d, I keep the 300 on a monopod and the 200 on a tripod. Allows me to stay focused on the couple with the 70-200 but select other items of importance (details, people in the crowd, etc) with the 300. Us the 28-70 for the post ceremony group shots. er1
I have shot weddings with 2 lenes: 24-70 2.8 & 70-200 2.8 with very nice results. I keep a 16-35/50/85/100mac/135 (Canon) in my bag but sometimes never even touch them.

jmichaelc
I use almost every lens i own, at every wedding. My second shooter and I both have a small 4 position lens bag and the primary lens bag is always located safely at the paticular location we happen to be at. I have: Sigma 10-20 Sigma 20 F1.8 Sigma 30 F1.4 Canon 50 F1.4 Canon 50 F1.8 Tamron 28-75 F2.8 Canon 100 F2.0 Canon 200L F2.8 Sigma 70-200 F2.8 Canon 70-200L F4 (I have a duplicate 50mm F1.8 and 20MM in car as back up) My favorite personally is using the 20MM F1.8 Sigma but i would be at a loss without any of the lenses listed above. paul_serafini1
I like to travle light so I only use a few lenses. I have the canon 70-200 2.8 L which I use alot. Today, I am buying a canon 2x teleconverter for that one. I also use the 28-70 2.8 L, I have a 50 mm 1.8 ("fantastic plastic") which rarely comes out of the bag. Next lens will be the 16-35 2.8 L, and some extension tubes.
