gene_steinman
Hi, I've read posts to this forum for a while and I appreciate all the great post but have a question. I want to add a sequence number automatically to a group of pictures as part of digital processing. Is there anyway to add sequences to pictures so I can make a DVD and have the viewer tell me which number of picture they want. Thanks much. david_schilling___chicago_
I use iView media pro for this but you can also use Photoshop as well. Even easier, upload to an online server like smugmug and the clients can order everything online.
suzyq
You can do it in Adobe Bridge easily. Select all the pictures, go to TOOL and click o Batch Rename. Use the dialog to enter a text name and sequence. I use something like text- Details sequence -1 . It is very quick and easy. You can move images to any order you choose first. savagesax
I use Susan's system. Takes about 15 seconds. You can also rename if you have a folder and you are using a PC. In the folder select ALL, right click and you will see RENAME. Type in - "jpeg.o" and all photo's will be renamed in sequence.
garrison_k.
When they're selected in Bridge, just right click to get to the same "Batch Rename" function. Saves you a step and mouse movement over going to the tool bar.
casey_mccune
I think what he wants is for the number to actually be on the picture, not just renamed. I had this problem as well. There are scripts out there that you can find and run and they will add the file name onto the picture. I couldnt get the script to run as i didnt have the font the script called for and was in a time pinch. So what i did was create an action in photoshop that added text to the picture, and i left that part open for edit in the action. I then went to file, automate, batch. Selected the folder and action i wanted applied and it opened each file, began to add text to it and let me type the file number, i clicked ok and it saved and closed and moved on to the next. It took me about 45 minutes to process about 800 pictures, so it ran pretty quick. I know its not the easiest way, but it worked.

dan_locke
I am not sure if the post that I just made was actually submitted. I also realize that I forgot the download link to these neat little tools. Here is the link to an editor that gets Gene's task don: http://www.faststone.org/FSViewerDetail.htm Here is my little "Jing" video (Techsmith free app) that tells you how. http://screencast.com/t/KijkjTuA0ke Have fun! gene_steinman
<p>Thanks for all the input. I apologize for not replying earlier. I like the batch program idea, but instead of adding another program to my program list, can you add the seqeunce numbers and or copyright as a batch program in PS? Thanks again.</p>
