duane_mills
Thanks Mis and Alisa. Fredrik, the first B/W is amazing. It made me go back to yesterdays pix and and convert two to B/W. Here's one...

hagar
Duane, those are really neat. I especially like your 'newfie'. I was over at a friend's place yesterday trying to get shots of 2 black poodles.. yikes! I've never taken so many shots that headed for the trash can.<br> Fredrik: Nice model.. I mean nice lens..<br> Hin: I do like #1 and #4 the best. I'm curious to see a b&w version as well.<br> Markus: We are still not trading with Cuba.. so unless you have some cuban cigars to hand out with those photos, they will get censored! Flowers are nice.. but not for the guys, for crying out loud :-)<br>Maybe this will help <br><center><img src="http://inlinethumb52.webshots.com/42419/2115201980011358559S425x425Q85.jpg" alt="pn"></a>
frygge
Thanks guys. Actually she is a very good friend who models from time to time, so cameras don't bother her. Which again is good news for someone with a k10d/battery grip/31mm Limited combo. Can be intimidating I guess. As for the 31mm, it's freakin' incredible. Hands down the best optics I have ever had on a camera. I thought the FA43 was very good, and the DA70 impressed me. They don't compare IMO. Sharp from corner to corner at f1.8. I'm in heaven. Perfect FOV for me. Of course it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. (Although law of diminishing returns kicks in I guess). Duane: Newfoundlands are so cool. Great shot of a fantastic animal. Markus: An embargo is an embargo, although it denies you guys two of the great things of this world, Havana club and decent cigars. Maybe Raul gets his act together? Who knows. Hin: Your flowershots are beautiful as always. I sincerely hope you don't switch systems. Old pentax lenses are way to cool. Cheers Fredrik

garry_young1
I'm a little late to the party, but at least I'm back from a truly exhausting trip to California. I took a shot of this little chap in Disneyland. I forgot to set the iso back to 200 from 1600, but it still looks ok. <P> <a href=" title="sparrow by Garry Young, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3059/2567377850_96336740fc.jpg" width="500" height="334" alt="sparrow" /></a> <P> This is uncropped. It was taken with the DA 50-200. <P> Brilliant shots this week everyone.

hagar
Garry, if you are typing in Html, then to turn ON the centering you type <center> and to turn it off </center> also does not hurt to add a <br> .. that's a break. Great shot.. shows you that when there is enough light, 1600 does not really cause a lot of problems..

garry_young1
Strange Haig, at work the centering does not carry over into the posts below. At home it does! I think it may be the different browsers. I use IE at home and Firefox at work.
ianmaleny
I use firefox, no problems here.
