Any sunset locations in Central NJ region

Now I understand that we, at east coast have been blessed with sunrise but do

we know any locations - not just beach but may be lake or other locations to

capture setting down sun?

I'm in Middlesex and I am alright travelling 50 odd miles in any of the

directions.

Hello from the Garden State!!!

You may want to head back to the Shore for great sunset photos too. While the sun does not set over the ocena, there are many places along the bay side of the shore towns that will work. One of the best places is Sandy Hook with the sun setting in Raritan Bay.

I have also made a few shots of sunset from Seaside Heights, looking over Barnegat Bay. Just after going over the bridge, you'll see a little beach and pier to the left. Another great spot.

If you don't mind the drive, Cape May is also great for sunset. For hillier terrain, check out High Point (in the extreme northwest corner) or the Delaware Water Gap.

Hello from another Garden State resident.

I do not have many of sunset photos from our state but 20 years ago I have made one great photo of sunset while on the Circle Line ship. The sun was setting behind the Statue of Liberty.

I might check out some of James' suggestions this summer.

I agree about Sandy Hook. It is a seven-mile spit of non-commercial park land that runs North-South, allowing for great sunrises -- and great sunsets. The one restaurant which exists on the Hook as part of the Park Service features a salute specifically to the sunset every night. I live right at the Hook and don't go more than a week without a visit 12 months a year.

Adjacent to Sandy Hook is Highlands (on the ocean) and one town up, Atlantic Highlands (further up Sandy Hook Bay). There are spots in both those towns where you can also get nice sunsets.

Sandy Hook is excellent for nature type shots. If you would like cool shots of Manhattan or Jersey City I suggest you drive up to Liberty State Park. From there you have a great view of the battery, which is fantastic for sunrise and sunset. Also, exchange place in Jersey City has a great view of lower Manhattan.
