robin_barnes
I have a 20" Intel iMac (white model) running Tiger 10.4.11 and am about to buy an Epson V500 scanner. The latter comes with Photoshop Elements 3 for Mac but I understand that this software was released some while before the Intel iMacs became available. Will I be able to use PE3 on my Intel iMac or will I need to buy PE6? Thanks, in advance, for your help.
rich_morgan1
You can PROBABLY use it in emulation, but it will be slower. Nothing is certain though until you actually try it.
ace_fury
PS3 should work. OSX has what is called Rosetta built in which converts PowerPC applications to work with Intel. There is no emulation just a translation of software, big difference and I doubt that you will notice a speed difference with PSE. BTW, PSE3 is over three years old, you might want to get 6 in any case.
rich_morgan1
Don't assume anything. Notice the PE3 mention in the thread. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4931644

andreas_weber
PSE*2* definitely worked on my Intel Macbook. But if you can afford PSE6, go for it; there have been several recent additions worth the upgrade. http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/2008/06/photoshop-eleme.html
