Battery for 5D?

There are two batteries for 5D, anyone use impact CM-BP511? How about it? Is it

good as Canon's? Thanks!

There are more than two brands that will work. I use a CTA (from B&H) and it has been VERY good - better than the Canon original. I also has another brand that only cost $12 and it was a piece of crap.

Not sure what you mean by two batteries. Several companies make batteries for the 5D and other cameras that use the same model. I've had good and bad experiences with them.

One off of ebay didn't work at all in either of 2 chargers or in the camera. Was fortunate enough to get refunded for it.

Another I bought from from a photography store has a higher mAh than the Canon battery and a fraction of the price and works great.

Well there is a date backup battery and a camera battery. If you are talking about the latter I have been using Sterlingtek batteries for years on all my EOS DSLRs without any problems..

I've also used a Sterlingtek also as one of my four batteries and it has worked just

fine.

Are you referring to BP 511A, 511, and 512?

 

I think 511A has slightly higher power. The other two are different in shape, but otherwise similar except that I believe the 511 is stronger than the 512. All work in the 20D etc., but the 511A comes with the 5D, and I don't know if the older models will work too.

I've had excellent luck with the products from www.sterlingtek.com - they are very affordable but reliable!

I've had good luck with Sterlingtek as well.
