arthuryeo
Has anyone successfully used the Multiple Exposure feature in their D3 yet? WhenI say successful, I meant close to the quality of blending two RAW in PS/CS3.
errol young
Do it in PS. You have more control that way.
Jerry_
You may need to experiment some. One image (almost always) needs a dark background for the second image to 'look' right in a double-exposure. The feature worked well on a D80, so it should work equally well on the D3.
tmcleland
I'm with Errol. Do it in photoshop. Underexposing the two shots by about one stop and layering via "Screen" mode in PS gets me closer to the look I get with double-exposed film than the camera does. hudspeth
Arthur, I am going to try it this weekend. Have you tried it?
arthuryeo
Yes, I tried after reading the manual. Nikon seems to think that this feature will perform better than image-merging in PS. I tried different variations but the main subject is much lighter the environments.
bjørn rørslett
The multiple exposure feature in combination with setting Autogain=Off work wonders on my D3. If Autogain is On, you could (depending on the subject and scene lighting) do better in PS.
arthuryeo
What are your secrets, Bjorn?
bjørn rørslett
Why, as I've said: setting Autogain = Off.
