m_barbu1
Cards are so inexpensive these days that I don't understand why you would bother.
john_g10
I have many SDHC cards already in addition I'm not rich like you.
Hector Javkin
I would find an adapter valuable if it could stay in the camera, so that only the SD card was inserted and removed. That's much safer than the insertion and removal of CF cards, which can bend pins. But the adapters I've seen advertised have to be removed to insert the SD. There's also a value if you have other cameras that use SD cards.

A 4 GB CF card costs less than the adapter. That gives you more storage, since the other SD cards can continue to be used with the other camera(s).</p>
Hector Javkin
"How is that (having other cameras that use SD cards) a value? A 4 GB CF card costs less than the adapter." Having one kind of memory, even if it needs to be put in an adapter for one of your cameras, simplifies things. I'm not saying it's less expensive. It's simply convenient not to have to think about kind of memory each camera takes.
m_barbu1
I expect that the necessity of having two steps to remove a memory card (remove adapter, then remove card from adapter) will quickly negate any such perceived convenience by sticking to one format. That aside, cost is obviously a factor to John.
cabbiinc
Memory cards are electonic things. Like all electronic things they will all fail eventually. Having more cards just gives you more options. Trying to save $$$ with an in-expensive memory card is like using questionable film. You could take chances but I wouldnt advise it. Get a good CF card. If you wait you can usually find them on sale.
