david brown
Now this is something I have not encountered before and was wondering if anyone else had come across it before. I was on the critique forum last week I think and noticed several post by someone who had marked me as interesting. So being the friendly fella I am I commented on one of his posts saying, I follow your work and like what you have done here, keep up the good work! Not a bad thing to say I thought, then I added are you near ------. Now the reason I asked which town he was near is thAT i HAD AN EXCHANGE STUDENT live with us FROM THERE BACK IN 1989, ooops caps lock came on.So I thought if he was from around there he may know the family and I could re establish contact with them.A few hours later I went to look up a response and it had vanished, not just that post but all of them had gone.I looked on his home page and there was not a trace of them being posted that day. First I thought go back tomorrow and check maybe it had not registered yet, but no they have vanished forever. Now is that a scary question to ask, am I a cerial killer, or do I smell? Can someone delete their own post while in the forum or did I cross the line in friendlyness?I await your friendly responses as I put on deodorant. joshroot
Some people do not like conversational posts on their image pages. There are topics that might be better discussed in a private email.
david brown
Fair enough Josh ,but I wrote on one post, he had posted 4 and they were all gone. If he had answered I would have suggested an email, but did not get a chance, keep in mind he marked me as interesting so I would have thought friendly conversation would be ok, as JP said maybe its paranioa. Now is it possible to delete your own posts from the forum?
joshroot
You are saying that the image itself was gone, or the comments left on it were gone? It isn't possible for a user to delete comments left on an image. However, if the user deleted the image, all comments would be removed along with it. It is also possible that the user wrote to a moderator/admin and requested that your off topic & conversational post be removed. I am not sure why it would be important, but it is possible. susan_smith7
Yes the images gone and so should the comments.
david brown
Josh, yes the images, plural, were gone. I know that you can delete comments which is ok i would have known what was happening then, not understood it but none the less. Susan, what is wrong with asking if they are near a town considering I am on a seperate continent, surely there is no risk with a simple question. A simple why do you ask would have clarified things! m_barbu1
Maybe he just wasn't getting the responses he wanted, and he deleted the images. Doesn't have to have anything to do with your posts.

cycler48
About 5 years ago in my town, police found a crime scene where a man was dead, lying face down in a bathtub full of milk, with a banana protruding from his buttocks. Yeah ... you know the rest.
bruce_mattes
Gordon Do you think it was the high sugar content of the cereal that led to the "Cereal Killer" slashing the boxes?.. The majority of the slashings to date have resulted in the demise of cereals such as Fruity Pebbles, Frosted Flakes, Cocoa Puffs, Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, Etc.. Puffed Rice, 100% Bran Flakes, Corn Flakes, & Grape Nuts are seldom bothered.. Hot cereals such as Cream of Wheat, Quaker Oatmeal, Grits, & Bob's Red Mill 7-Grain Cereal are never touched.. I understand that the FBI is about to establish a sub-division of the Behavioral Sciences Department in order to study & better understand the growing phenomenon of Cereal Killers.. Especially troubling is the growing trend for multiple box slashing's at one time, such as you have described.. With supermarket aisles in the United States no longer safe, we are at an Amber Alert stage.. Martial arts dojos around the country are gearing up to offer self-defense classes so that shoppers entering the cereal aisle will be prepared to defend themselves against Cereal Killers.. This has led to a rapid increase nationwide in shopping cart thefts.. Many dojos cannot afford the costs of the multiple shopping carts needed to teach the hugely popular "Cereal Aisle Defense With Your Shopping Cart" classes.. Alas, such is modern life in the 21st Century.. Goodbye for now..Be sure to take care in the cereal aisle!.. Remember, SUGAR POPS ARE TOPS!.. gordonjb
Bruce; I bet you're right about that sugar.Too much sugar is going to kill you every time. I knew I was on the right track eating my oatmeal every morning. Not only does it ward off high cholesterol it also keeps me safe from cereal killers. I do put a bit of brown sugar and some dried blueberries in there... what do you think Bruce, am I still safe ?
gordonjb
Mark; I am not putting bananas on my cereal again -- ever!
mrstubbs
Why! Why!...every time there is a problem around here...the Banana get's the blame. How would you feel if your skinned was pulled off and you were bitten repeatedly! (written and authorised by the Queensland Domestic Banana Protection Society Inc.)
