mili_singh
Hello Does anyone know what happened to the New Zeiss ZV lenses for the hasselblad V system. When will they be out and where can they be purchased? Thanks
david_littleboy__tokyo__ja
I saw them at a used camera show (Cosina, who makes some of the new Zeiss Ikon 35mm lenses, was showing them (I have no idea why they were at a used camera show, though)) in Tokyo last week. I don't know about where or when they'll be available. FWIW, the Cosina guy said that it was Zeiss, not Cosina, who was actually making them. kparratt
Just go directly to www.zeiss.de , click on English on the menu bar (top-right on the homepage), Under "Solutions" click "photography" follow the links and you will find everything. Contact them directly, as I do. They are very helpful, like Hasselblad in Sweden used to be. Cheers, Kevin.
j_rgen_loob
Kevin Yes , I agree , the ZEISS people are very friendly , but I got no answer, when these lenses will be available and if they are sold directly through their online shop or through dealers only . If you have better answers , so please go ahead and post them here . Regards Jrgen
wolf_rainer_schmalfuss
Hi Mili, please address your inquiry to the E-mail address: n.balle@zeiss.de Nicole Balle, she is the marketing manager at the CARL ZEISS photo division in Oberkochen/Germany. bill_palmer2
Robert White in the UK has them on their web page, with a note saying available Jan 2008. Comparing the prices for the 120 mm lens vs. the Hasselblad/Zeiss standard model, it looks like you pay an even steeper price if you want a lens that doesn't say Hasselblad on it! split_image
I asked the Cosina personel at the camera fair and he said that they had just received the lenses from CZ in time for the fair and that their engineers hadn't gone over them in detail. Sounded like that the lenses shown were prototypes, though very impressive ones indeed. A rumor was that CZ were getting them ready for distribution in 2009 so if that were correct another year of waiting would suffice but, in my opinion, sometime later this year would be much more likely. Here is the pic which someone posted (20080224): http://wag3.exblog.jp/i21/
q.g._de_bakker
The only thing about these lenses that is 'newish' is the barrel. And even that only bit.<br>So the delay propably is not because they still are prototypes, but because they want to know that there is a market for these things first, before they invest in producing them in quantity.
