joel aron
fpointinc.com came so highly recommended in this forum for getting anti newton glass to adapt your Nikon scanner trays for better 6x6 scans. I sent the guy money nearly 3 weeks ago, and only a confirmation of my order, and no glass. Email is going un-answered. Curious if anyone has dealt with them? Would hate to give them a bad name here in the forum. Also.. is there any other online place that you know of where I can order custom cut anti newton glass for the Nikon 9000 scanner trays? thanks for your help! cheers, -Joel
silverhalide
If all else fails, you could use the glass carrier Nikon makes for the 9000. I have never encountered newton rings although it is a little tedious to work with. Sincerely, md
joel aron
Thanks Michael. ..i would, but $350 for a tedious tray against a $40 rectangle of glass to drop into the tray that came with it.. keeps me out of trouble with the wife ;)
Craig_Cooper11664875449
Ive ordered from them internationally on two separate occasions last year with no problems. What I found (after trying to modify the original Nikon 9000 holder for 2 sheets of glass) was that by removing the rubber strips and screwing down the sliding side so that it just fitted the glass, I got very good results by just placing one piece on AN glass on top and still be able to clamp everything down. jack_lam1
Joel: Did you sort out the problem with them yet? I'm thinking about buying from them too. For $38 does it come with a pair of glass or just one piece? Craig: Do you mean you have success just using ONE piece of AN glass and not have the film sandwiched by two pieces of glass? Do you have the film emulsion side down?
