Agreed Barry. Shay has brought some actual "casual conversation" to the forum. I was looking through the list of threads in this forum and without counting, it looks as though 80% or so are equipment questions, technical related questions...anything but casual conversation. So...thanks Shay!

<p>

To be fair, the Casual Conversation forum is not a non-photography forum. It is for all sorts of threads that do not fit in other forums. Some are OT conversational type posts, some are photographic related, and yes some are even about equipment (oh the horror!).

To be honest John, I didn't even notice that it was you who made the post.

There has been a lot of miscommunication in the past on this site. It's my goal to correct that. Which is one reason why it seems like I'm always being contradictory to other's posts.

fair enough Josh! i didn't mean to imply that any/all posts concerning tech issues, etc. shouldn't be posted in this forum...i was just trying to get across the idea that it's refreshing to have a thread that's simply for fun...and nothing more. and...i do understand what you're saying about miscommunication/misconceptions, etc. sorry if i was a bit reactionery!

Shay if you're still listening. one more before my head explodes.

Long exposures taken with wide angle lens...of shorelines and receding tides... and large boulders in the foreground. add an overly saturated sunset ...it's even worse. do it in HDR...and it's the WORST. Give me a day void of these type shots and I'll gladly look at pics of cats, dragon flies copulating, and any shots in which people ask "what do you think?"...for a week...

now... i feel so much better!
