john clark
I haven't been getting through much film until recently but having bought a s/hEos 3 I expect I'll be getting through a lot more. I was about to order in a few rolls of film, and one film I have always liked isFuji NPH400. However, my online source doesn't have it any more - has it beendiscontinued? If so, can someone recommend a film with 400 speed (or min 200 speed), finegrain and slightly less contrast than Reala (which I love but which isn'tsuitable for handholding at this time of year IMHO). Thanks, John

john clark
Ah, that explains it. So, does anyone use this new film? How does it compare to NPH?
James G. Dainis
I used 400 NPH and Pro 400H. I can't say that I see any difference. I believe it was just renamed. James G. Dainis
User_502260
I just shot a 36 exp. roll. It looks similar to NPH to me. I like using it when I am shooting indoors with flash. It tones down the contrast with flash nicely. If I had to shoot indoors without flash I would use Portra 800 instead.
roger_smith4
NPH/400H is a nice film- just don't underexpose it.
Michael R Freeman
Pro 400H is basically a "new and improved" NPH 400.
drjedsmith
I would recommend you try some of the new (redesigned) Kodak Portra 400 VC in this case. Very beautiful film. I personally think a little better than NPH, but everyone is entitled to their own, of course.
Jed
russ_butner___portland__or
The Pro-H, is a very good film. I used to use it a lot. However, as of late, I've gone to using the Kodak 400UC. Finer grain, very nice colors and flesh tones. I rate my Pro-H and 400UC, at 320. Russ
