robert x
Gee. thanks Frank - I hadn't thought of using GOOGLE. Unfortunately B&H and Adorama only seem to have stores in NYC, which is a couopla thousand miles inconvenient. To clarify - I would just be really happy if someone could give me the name of a store, either in San Diego or downtown San Francisco, where one can walk in and buy 120 Kodak slide film. I know that I could search through every camera store I find on Google to try and figure if they would sell 120 film, but I have always been happy to point people to London stores and am hoping someone in CA would return the favour. Spearhead
Photographer's Supply is a far better place for buying film than either of the references above. It's a pro shop, also used a lot by photography students. Prices and inventory are usually better than the consumer shops, and you don't have to deal with a bunch of people trying to make camera purchasing decisions. Calumet is also good, but a bit farther from downtown and public transportation.
Photographers Supply is located between 2nd and 3rd at 436 Bryant Street, San Francisco, California.
Store Hours:
Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:00pm Saturday 9:30am - 5:00pm Sunday Closed
(415) 495-8640 Music and Portraits Blog: Life in Portugal
frank_b._baiamonte
In San Diego you could try Nelson Photo on India Street. Possibly George's Camera on 30th just of University, but the parking is even worse there than at Nelson. Nelson also has a store in La Jolla I think. kelly_flanigan1
Whats interesting is that Savons/OSCO drug stores in the LA and Bay area sold tri-x in 120 and Kodacolor in 120 in the early 1990's still; and sometimes Ralphs, Vons and Alpha Beta grocery stores too. randrew1
I'm not sure whey it wouldn't be easer to order film for direct shipment, but I will try to answer the question that was asked. The people at the Kodak information line (1-800-242-2424 in the US) often have info on which camera stores have purchased what film. If you give them a zip code, they can often find a store with the film you want.
