mskovacs
Are you missing the nameplate?<div></div>
photoyann10
I've got it but now without black paint ( I did a big mistake trying to improve the white letters but it was the contrary....). Now I will try to make another black name plate but it is another story... :)
tito sobrinho
Yannick, very interesting as my lens hood for my Old Standards doesn't fit my Original. As a matter of fact, the twin lens cap from the Original doesn't fit my Standards as well as my Art-Deco Rolleicord. Mike, my f3.8 Original # 54,302 with a 3.1 viewing lens #54,928 doesn't have the large diameter 3.1 depicted on your camera. Looks like, it was an improvement by F&H. The lettering also, on the taking lens is outside i.e. around the lens mount. I cannot see the first pages (TLR) on the Rollei Club...1/3 vertically obstructed by "Ad by Google" even so I have the pop-ups blocked. Any suggestions? mskovacs
As a collector, the Original is very interesting because there are lots of small variation introduced over its lifetime of production. The one above is an f/4.5 which seems to have been made in smaller numbers than the f/3.
photoyann10
Tito, The trick is to use a join in rubber you can buy in a "do it yourself" store. This join had a hole of 23 mm, then as the diameter was too large, I cut it such as it had 28/29 mm of diameter. The thickness of this join was 3 mm. And it works. jorge_jimenez1
Hey Yannick I thought the question you had was did they have a lens hood for the Original? Tito: of course your hood doesn't fit the Original, the hood is 28.5mm and the lens is 23mm. BTY Yannick's hood is the third variation of the lens hood Rollei made. My Original (612 model) has the 3.8 tessar, so the letters are on the outside of the lens. The 4.5 has more room (smaller front element) so they could put the letters inside. I see Mike's (a 611 model)has the added cable stay, which I don't understand since it does not show a pc or bulb flash connection. I see Mike's has distance numbers on the focus knob, mine does not, nor is mine's back hinged (and mine is 620 film. The 612 sold for $10 more than the 611. Jorge, I don't understand your sentence ? Tha added cable stay is for a cable release and it seems there is this connection on Mike's Original, isn't it ? tito sobrinho
Jorge, that was (is) the stay for the little cable release, as it was (is) easier to photograph with your left thumb squeezing the trigger at the finder level.

jorge_jimenez1
Gee, how dumb of me! Thanks Tito. I think we should have a special club for owners of the Original Rolleiflex. Don't you?
photoyann10
Yes nice idea... And what about the little red window on the back of this camera. I put a piece of plastic on it to prevent light entering the camera but is it really usefull now with our films ??
jorge_jimenez1
Don't worry about the red window. It will not fog 120 film
