jason_andrew
I've just started printing a handful of images (10x8) to go into an album and although the prints are fine, I feel they lack a little 'oomph' in the way of a border. As they are now, they are editied to 10x8 then reduced ever so slightly to fit a 10x8 sheet, so I have about 5mm plain white borderaround each photo. As I said they look fine, my wife has said they're fine but I feel they need a little 'pop', just something subtle, to make them stand out on the page. I googled 'photoshop, wedding, borders' and the most promising website was stilleffects.com, who do have the borders I'd like but the pricing seems odd - check them out. So the million dollar question is - do you use any borders on your prints and who should I turn to for them? Cheers.
savagesax
Often yes. Forgot where I got the CD on borders. It sure wasn't expensive.
david_schilling___chicago_
Sometimes I'll use a border that I'll make using simple PS techniques or use an action to place a "sloppy" border. The problem that you run into is some of the different crop factors. For instance the typical 4x6 ratio will not translate well as an 8x10 unless you leave quite a bit of border space around the image.

melissa_howlett
I bought mine from Itty Bitty Actions. I quite like them! http://www.ittybittyactions.com/borders.htm
BrettPrucha
I found some free borders online that I have on my computer. I'll try and find the link. I have also used my film scanner and taken the border of a 35mm frame to make my own sloppy borders.
BrettPrucha
Found the link. I downloaded them from here. I like and have used Andrea's Borders on that page. You can see what a few of them look like from this site. richard f harris
They obviously do gay weddings in Chicago Illinois. Nice of one of the guys to dress up as Sarah. Seriously though I think most borders look a little naff. They can lift a picture sure, but not the multicoloured ones. I'd stick to the white, black or go without borders. It will look classier. KenPapai
I am trying to grok what Harris' snarky inside joke is all about (Richard -- the one with no posted portfolio or website). Nice border and excellent shot David. I guess mystery man Richard is all naffy about your talent. ;)
kellyka
Yikes Richard, feel free to say whatever you want about borders but theres no need to hack at the bride.
rannbphoto
Yeah, Richard. That was uncalled for. What if the bride found this thread? Think before you type next time. Jason, itty bitty actions has great borders, but I've also found some great free ones on http://payitforwardphoto.blogspot.com/ from time to time. Good luck! david_schilling___chicago_
Honestly, I just don't get it. I think Sarah looks lovely and quite feminine.....I would have thought a moderator would have deleted that remark by now. Thanks Ken.
