I used Nikon D2X for couple years. This is my first Hasselblad I don't have any

experiences in this camera. Any body can tell me what kind of zoom lens is

compatible with Hasselblad 503CWD. Can I use non Hasselblad lens and what kind

of flash I can get to use with this model. Thank you.

There is only one (1) zoom lens that was (now only used) once available for Hasselblad 500-series cameras (the ones that use leaf shutter lenses): the Schneider Variogon 140-280 mm lens.
It was big, heavy, and slow. Don't expect 35 mm format style convenience now you have stepped up to medium format. ;-)

If you go looking for the Schneider zoom, you'jll have to know that it was also offered without shutter, for the 2000-series cameras. So make sure it is a "C" or "CF" version before you buy.

You can indeed use non-Hasselblad lenses... The only lenses available for the Hasselblad (with the exception of the Schneider zoom mentioned above, and the "Hasselblad" 60-120 zoom that only works on 2000- or 200-series cameras) are made by Zeiss, not Hasselblad. ;-)
But no: the only lenses available for Hasselblad are the ones Hasselblad sells or sold themselves.

You can use any flash unit that can be connected to the PC-socket (stands for Prontor-Compur, not Personal Computer) on the lens.
To take advantage of the metering cell inside your 503 CWD, and have TTL-OTF flash metering, you must use a unit that can be used with a SCA 309 adapter (which means units made by Metz) or a Sunpak (and though i have one, i always forget the type name...) Hasselblad adapter with Sunpak flash units.
A very good flash unit is the Hasselblad D40, which is a dedicated flash unit, that can only be used on Hasselblad with TTL-OTF metering.

When looking for a flash, keep in mind that, unless you are using a prism finder that has a shoe on top, you will need a bracket too, or get a "hammerhead" style one that comes with its own bracket.
