leicaglow
Great stuff Phil. Keep up the great work. Since you asked for some suggestions, let me give you one... more of an exercise actually. Pick the top 10 and make a Set called Portfolio. Then keep swapping out your best 10 or 12. Great stuff though. You've got a great eye!

janvanlaethem
Hi Phil, You have a great eye for composition and light, keep up the good work. I like your Christmas tree picture, with its nice rendering of out of focus highlights. Your black and white close up "Goodbye world" is a very strong image and your black and white train picture may well be my favourite. If I can give you some advice though, it would be to try and decide at the taking stage if you want your picture in colour or in black and white. Your closeup "Goodbye world" appears twice in your portfolio, it seems you haven't decided which version you like best. I know digital allows for easy conversion, but some images just work better in black and white and others in colour. Set yourself a theme and go out shooting black and white images, look for strong contrasts and strong compositions and work with a "black and white mind set". Similarly, use colour to its full extent and concentrate on using complementary colours in your pictures, or at the other extreme look for colours that provide a strong contrast. Above all, keep photographing, keep practising with a wide variety of subjects and keep posting. You can create a portfolio here on photo.net also.
