small bag suggestion

Hi guys,

I was asked the other day what I would like to have as a present. So I thought

to wish something for my camera equipment.

So now the question. I would like to have something to carry one D80 with 18-

135 attached + one spare lens (nikon 70-300 ore sigma 10-20) + SB600 + filter.

I like the Crumpler bags as they don't look like that there are camera bags.

But I don't know which sice will suit my needs. Are there other bags you can

recommend? Say should be shoulder bags as the Crumpler daily bag. I already

have a backpack wich suits my needs as a backpack, but nothing for cary around

with easy access.

thanks for your help any helpful suggestions and other thoughts and opinions

are welcome

Perhaps consider getting a Crumpler Messnger Bag (whihc are fantastic quality and functionality alone) mated with a custon Photo insert. Use the messenger bag for work, and just slide the indsert with your gear in when you are shooting.

I'm not sure which country you are in, here in Australia, it is the Wonder Weenie/Barney Rustle Blanket, with a matching "Bucket" for your camera gear.

That will fit two pro bodies, a few primes and a flash.

here's another vote for the LowePro Slingshot 200 AW.

it's a bit of a less-stressful fit on your back, hips and sides than a loaded messenger bag, and can easily hold a d80+zoom lens + 1-2 extra lenses + filters + flash + spare batteries/memory cards. it's trick feature is the ability to slide it into 'ready' position. the AW cover is nice in a sudden downpour.

You should be able to fit the D80, 18-135, 70-300, 10-20 and SB-600 into a LowePro SlingShot 200, with the SB-600 in the top compartment. If you don't need to bring all the lenses at the same time, you might even be able to get away with a SlingShot 100. (I have the 200 and 300 myself, but not the 100.)

Whether you'll like the SlingShot or not is another issue. Only you can decide that.

thanks for the quick answer. I will have to look in a shop if I would like the Lowepro it looks more like a backpack to me.

Keith I don't know if I would like to have a D3. I am not brilliant with the D80 so I would propably sell a D3 to get some better glas ;-) and books to lern more. A good tool will only produce good results in the hands of a master of his trade. it wount give ME better pics. only more wight to carry around.
